If you’re a small business then we get you. We’re a small business too.
Hazelnut Creative has been around since 2013 and operates from Sydney, NSW, Australia. We are proud to be an Australian business.
We were previously based in Adelaide and still maintain a loyal client base there. Referrals have also given us the opportunity to work with some wonderful people in Victoria and Tasmania. You are welcome to check out some of our previous work here.
The business is run by a couple of everyday people who love design and specialise in getting businesses up and running on the path to success. Outside of that, you’ll catch us enjoying coffee, going out to the movies and enjoying the glorious Sydney sunshine. Get to know us in more detail below!
Kate van der Horst
Graphic/Web Designer & Developer
Kate is Hazelnut’s key designer and developer. She has been creating websites since the age of 11 and holds a degree in IT and Digital Media from Flinders University in South Australia. Kate also taught web development at Flinders and worked there for several years creating promotional materials and developing websites.
Kate has a passion for beautiful clean design and is determined to create the best outcome for every client she works with.
When she doesn't have a head full of code you can catch her eating, travelling, ogling at nature or on the stage and screen.
Digital Marketer & Project Manager
Her partner in crime, Simon, has extensive customer service experience and specialises in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM), alongside his love for business and marketing strategy. Growing up, he was always drawn to logos and marketing from a young age. His experience working in a high-octane business development environment has helped form a clear picture of what it takes to succeed as a small business today.
Simon also holds full Google Certification qualifications encompassing search engine marketing, analytics and optimisation.
Outside of Hazelnut Creative, his interests include digital music creation, drone photography and reading any non-fiction books that pique his interest.
